Flagship Newspaper creates a 5k Military Challenge for Hampton Roads
Slated for July 31st 2010 at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex, Virginia Beach, VA

NORFOLK- June 2010– The Flagship Newspaper, Military Newspapers of Virginia, and our title sponsor, USA Discounters, are pleased to announce the 1st Ever “Military Challenge” in Hampton Roads.
The Military Challenge, an ultimate military-style confidence course, will feature a 5K run/obstacle course designed to challenge even the most fit individuals. This signature event will be held from 8am-12pm at The Virginia Beach Sportsplex located at 2181 Landstown Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23456.
Along with distinguished guest speakers, the event will showcase a variety of military challenges/obstacles, entertainment, and fun activities for the public. Civilians are welcomed and encouraged to compete alongside the military and take on obstacles used in the everyday military training. Individuals or teams of five may compete. Teams and individuals will compete for the top honors. All finishers will receive an official Military Challenge medal. A portion of the event proceeds will benefit The American Red Cross.
The event will also host a Kids’ Mini Challenge, where children will have an opportunity to conquer a similar course with military and other fun obstacles to challenge them. Finishers will receive an official Kids’ Mini Challenge “dog tag” medal.

- Moon Bounce and other children activities

- Music featuring- a special concert with up and coming local artists
- Concessions available for purchase
